A swimming pool heat pump is an efficient, economical and effective way to heat a swimming pool. It allows you to reach the ideal water temperature and extend the swimming season.
Choosing a heat pump to heat your pool means controlling your energy consumption, controlling your electricity bill and maximising your enjoyment of your pool!
Save energy and enjoy your pool for longer by heating your pool water with a pool heat pump.
Polytropic, a specialist in pool heating, has been offering several ranges of reliable and quiet pool heat pumps for nearly 20 years. They meet the specific requirements of each type of pool, from 15 m³ to 160 m³ and above. Each range offers several power ratings from 1.5 kW to 84.2 kW depending on the required characteristics.
The choice of power output must be based on several parameters, such as the type of pool and the volume of water. Other criteria are also taken into account:
There are heat pumps for swimming pools for all areas!

A swimming pool heat pump is installed outdoors (except for Polytropic’s exclusive INDOOR model, which is designed to be installed inside the plant room!).
The pool heat pump is installed in the filtration system by means of a simple hydraulic and electrical connection, after the filter and before any water treatment system.
It can be installed during the construction of a new pool or as part of the renovation of an existing pool.
For optimal use and performance, several environmental factors must be taken into account. Your pool heat pump must be installed by a certified professional: call on your pool specialist!
Heat pumps for heating swimming pools are air-to-water type. They extract energy from the air, convert it into heat and transfer it to the pool water via a heat exchanger.
Several technologies are available: on/off, full-inverter or inverter pool heat pumps. Full inverter pool heat pumps operate in a ‘smart’ way, adjusting their compression speed according to the air and water temperatures.
The technology used, the design, sound insulation, correct sizing (choice of power), proper use and installation of the heat pump all affect the noise level.
Please note: some models are reversible and can cool the pool water.
Heat pumps can be horizontal or vertical depending on the position of the fan, which does not affect performance.
We are seeing the emergence of connected models that can be programmed and controlled remotely via a smartphone or tablet app.
